Original text — Bava Kamma 77a (עז.)
פרה
אדומה אחר שהוזה דמה, הרי היא
מטמא טומאת אוכלין
ואף שאסורה היא בהנאה ואפילו פדיון אין מועיל לה אחר שנזרק דמה, ולדעת רבי שמעון כל שהיא אסורה בהנאה, אינה מטמאת טומאת אוכלין, והטעם:
הואיל והיתה לה שעת הכושר
משנשחטה, שהיתה ראויה בו לטמא טומאת אוכלין.
Translation
A red heifer
after its blood has been sprinkled, it is
susceptible to ritual impurity of food,
although it is forbidden for benefit, and even redemption is of no avail to it after its blood has been sprinkled, and according to Rabbi Shimon, anything that is forbidden for benefit does not contract ritual impurity of food. And the reason is:
Since it had a time when it was fit
from the time it was slaughtered, when it was fit at that point to contract ritual impurity of food.
